Freak Exhibition, Shoreditch opens 9th December
About the Show:
Freaks and misfits hold a vague and mysterious place inside human consciousness and outside of human comprehension. They can take many forms; a freak of nature, a freak accident or a freak appearance. For centuries freak shows and circuses have fascinated and perplexed the imagination of countless audiences. They show us something which is so close to home but living in a reality so far from what we call normality. These misfits serve as a reminder that our reality is only as concrete as we decide to make it. This exhibition serves to explore the notion of the Freaks and to wholeheartedly engulf its self and viewer into the mysteries of things not quite of this world.
This exhibition displays 35 artist's from around Europe and their visions of what happens when we peer behind the curtain and see the glitches in the makeup of our reality.
Opening Night: Thursday 9th December 5pm - 10pm. All welcome.
Exhibition: 9th - 16th December
open from 10am - 7pm on weekdays and from 10am till 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

No. 91 - so named after the mixed veg and cashew special from Jades Cantonese in the village. I think this is kitsch enough to grace most Chinese Restaurant walls. The finch has a gold leafed beak...details below.

Ellar Carr Pupil Referral Unit -painting project
For the last few weeks I've been doing short sessions with Ellar Carr pupil referral unit. They've been mark making and painting to music. Today was my last session with the 5th and final group - here is some of their work.

Its carnival time again! These are my designs for SIRF 2010, Stockton Carnival parade - my section is based around relaxation and leisure - hence the pets + gardening type themes.

Another 'troll' / non specific bird combination - all i know about trolls is that they're supposed to have xmas trees growing out of their heads (tho I may have been misinformed on that too) so I'm daubing like those medieval artists who'd never actually seen a lion (or a non specific bird) but drew one anyway. This tr...oll is avoiding being shat on by wearing what looks eerily like a post-op/ post life Michael Jackson mask.
